Hello. No book club pick for December since it's the Holiday season and I want you all to enjoy yourselves and your families during this time.

However... Since it's been a year since Nikki Giovanni has passed, I thought it would be a good idea to do a bookclub Dedication post. Let's honor Nikki Giovanni.

Question: what is your favorite Nikki Giovanni Book and Poem?

My favorite book is Chasing Utopia and my favorite poem is Ego Trippin.

Our last discussion of our latest book club selection is happening right now... We are discussing The Lost Songs Of Nina Simone By Shonda Buchanan. This book of peoms are amazing. It gives you a bit of Nina Simone life. Story, a bit of the Authors story and life in general all at once.

And the question of the week to close this out is:

If you could write a poem that sums up your entire life all at a once, what you write?

Would you include known lineage of you ancestors that mold into who you are and what you represent?
